First things first. I was going to go the MAC counter in the mall yesterday to get some fancy lipsticks based on your suggestions but…I couldn’t. I hate the mall, and I hate the bitches at the makeup counters. Why are they such bitches to everyone? They’re such bitches. I can muster up the courage for foundation, but for lipstick? I couldn’t. So I went to the drugstore instead and looked for the Just Bitten (Revlon) lipstick that so many of you suggested. And WOW. I love it. LOVE. That’s the color “Victorian,” and even though it’s from date night yesterday, I think it gives a more accurate impression of both my skin tone and the lipstick shade than the photos before. I have SUCH trouble getting a photo that accurately reflects my skin tone. I don’t know why. Oh, because I’m a crappy photographer, that’s why.
See? They look like totally different shades. But same! SAME! And this is even worse photography than normal, I realize. I think I look several months pregnant, but I swear I’m not, and I don’t even look that way.
Oh, and these jeans. I need to wax poetic about these jeans, but I’ll leave that for another day.

PS re the pics – get in as much natural light as possible. I take a pic, look at something “objective” like grass and adjust my camera until the greens more or less match. Then I know the colour is more true.

Oh yeah, that’s crazy awesome. I’ve been anxiously (seriously) anticipating the results of the lipstick search, because we have similar skin tones and my lips have been running around naked for far too long. Thanks for this!

I hate buying lipstick. I don’t think I’ve ever found one that looks right on me. I usually stick with a lightly tinted gloss or chapstick. I’m glamorous like that.
Ok, whenever you’re having one of those bad-style-photographer days just look at that photo. I’d have it framed and somewhere I can see all the time! Very pretty!
