I know I’ve worn this outfit before, but I really needed to wear something familiar and happy today. Today is a big day. Today I am acting as the preschool librarian. I haven’t librarian-ed for a few years due to pesky things like mothering and childcare, but I’ve been slowly getting back into my favorite parts, and trying to worm my way into the school librarian’s heart by doing the cataloguing for her (which TwoAdults says is like dirty talk for a librarian).
Sure enough, she’s on vacation so I get to temporarily take her place on Fridays. Hooray!
And while cataloguing is super fun and I’m familiar with it, preschoolers are…scary. Really scary. Like the clown in IT scary. Bitey. I needed the polka dots AND yellow tights today. And maybe also some armor.
Wish me luck!
Sweater: Gap
Skirt: Boden
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: TOMS

Good Luck! Beware of biting dinosaurs. I am jealous though. I do miss cataloging. You are so lucky. In fact, I take back my wish of “good luck”. OK, not really. Good luck. Have a super-awesome day.
Inspired by your recent multi-polka-dotty outfit, I bought a red and white dotty skirt yesterday. Now what to wear with it that doesn’t make me look like Minnie Mouse?
You look really great Shalini! Really cool, and pretty for the kids who like clothes and colours. Maybe you’re ‘back in the coop’! Given yor blog title and all … Figuratively speaking. About Laurie’s red & white dotty skirt, how about a chocolate (or suitable earthy shade, depending on the shade of red in the skirt) brown top and tights and boots? That would look nice but not at all Minnie. Or swap the brown for dark navy blue? Or you could wear a taupe / latte blouse and maybe silk cardigan, and fishnet tights and peep toes! No sign of Minne!
Ooh I love ALL of these suggestions. Brilliant.
Wow! Thanks for the great suggestions Justine. I was just blithering, and really didn’t expect any response.
Hope it went well. I do love those tights.
Tell us how it went! Grammy
Love the bright tights and polka dots, two of my favorite things.
You look wonderful! I hope you have a great time. Oh…and I love the tights. I’m jealous that you’re brave enough to wear such a bright color. They look fabulous.
I originally read the “clown in IT” as though IT was short for Information Technology, and had a shuddery image of literal clowns who were also IT guys. Very scary indeed.
That’s definitely scarier than anything Stephen King could come up with.
